"He's a good and fair man. I just plain like him."

- Al Montgomery

"He's honest, and he's the kind of man that can bridge that gap between the county's past and present with a sensible approach to growth."

- Micky Holz

"Nick Henderson deserves the vote of every resident in the county."

- Gregory Maes

"Working with Nick henderson on the Yakima Basin Environmental Education Program was a great insight to this man's care and can do attitude towards Kittitas County and the youth of your community. Without Nick's involvement I do not think we would have gotten the Cle Elum River Salmon Viewing Area finished in time for the students to use it. When I told Nick of a handicapped student from White Swan that had walked on his amputated legs to get the area, he said we cannot have this happen again. The YBEEP was able to get some grant money for the project, but there was a fast approaching deadline and I had doubts it would get done. With Nick's get it done attitude and community connections he formed partnerships that allowed us to get the trail built and opened in time for the students to view one of nature's miracle the spawning of Spring Chinook Salmon in the Cle Elum River."

- Bob Tuck, Director
Yakima Basin Environmental Program

"I have known Nick Henderson for five years. This is not a long time, but I am thoroughly impressed with his work ethic and the care he shows for his community. Every time I talk to Nick he as a story to tell about visiting a family or community member who is a shut-in or needs some sort of help. I am impressed and inspired by Nick's sense of community. I hope that some day I might do as much public service as Nick has done. This is the most important part of life, to help your community. To ease pain and to better the lives of those around you. This should be the goal that we all work towards. It is not easy. Nick does it naturally and doesn't ever seek publicity. This year, I am in charge of a local fraternity. Last year, the organization decided to renovate the interior. It took roughly eleven months and more than a thousand man-hours. Nick was there nearly every Sunday for eleven months, painting, scraping and cleaning. Our historic building is better place because of Nick's work. Our community is a better place due to Nick's work. I am glad to call Nick my friend."

- Pat Stanton
Past President of an Ellensburg Fraternal Order
